Drug and Alcohol Rehab Therapy Referral:

How to Make Referrals to a Brighton Hospital Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Therapist

“I may be able to manage the patient medically, but it also takes someone else to teach this chronically ill person how to get through his day without using drugs or alcohol,” says Eric N. Coffman, DO, a referring physician to Brighton Hospital’s rehab therapy program.  When a patient’s needs suggest a longer length of inpatient stay and a highly structured treatment program, I look toward Brighton Hospital with confidence.”

Brighton Hospital, a Michigan drug and alcohol rehab therapy center, values its relationships with physicians like Dr. Coffman and other drug and alcohol treatment therapists serving individuals in the community. If you are considering a patient referral to a substance abuse therapist and have questions about the detox therapy referral process; would like to obtain more information on substance abuse therapists at Brighton, or want to provide information to us, please call 1-877-976-2371. Representatives are available 8 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. weekends.  To simplify a referral to our rehab therapy program, please have the patient sign a Release of Information form before they are admitted.  Completed forms can be faxed to our Admissions Department at 810-227-2029. Alternatively, to begin the admissions process for treatment at Brighton Hospital, complete our Secure Online Admission Form .

We will keep you apprised of your patient’s program status as they complete their substance abuse assessment with one of our drug and alcohol therapists. However, we also respect our patients’ confidentiality. There may be instances in which a patient has not provided a release, or has revoked a previously obtained one. We will not be able to provide any information regarding the rehab therapy in such cases, in order to protect our patients’ wishes.

Alcohol and drug rehab treatment patients sometimes move between levels of treatment based on their physical, emotional, psychological, and recovery needs. Each patient is assigned a substance abuse therapist who manages their therapy program. If you have a signed release from our mutual client, our therapist will contact you regarding their stay and work with you to create an aftercare plan.

If you were not able to obtain a signed release from the patient prior to the drug and alcohol therapy referral to Brighton, but still wish to communicate with us, you may call our switchboard at 1-877-976-2371. We will not initially be able to acknowledge the presence of the patient, but will make every effort to obtain a release and have the drug therapist contact you.

Brighton Hospital is the second oldest drug and alcohol rehab therapy center in the country. We are preferred by those who seek a caring and compassionate drug and alcohol rehab therapist to guide them to recovery.  Many of our rehab therapy referrals come from the Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Grand Rapids areas of Michigan (MI).  Yet, we often serve individuals from other cities throughout the Midwest as well.
