For anyone dealing with drug and alcohol addiction, intervention and treatment are crucial. However, when it comes to adolescent drug and/or alcohol abuse, it is so important to get help as soon warning signs are evident. Brighton Center for Recovery runs a highly reputable and successful program that focuses on teenage drug and alcohol abuse. The treatment and rehabilitation is centralized to that age group and is highly effective. Due to our approach of using multiple types of addiction therapy, we have found that we can achieve a higher success rate in helping teens and their families that are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.
Brighton Center for Recovery offers several types of drug and alcohol rehab programs, including inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient drug treatment and partial hospitalization. Outpatient refers to a patient who is not residing at Brighton Center for Recovery in a residential treatment program. Brighton Center for Recovery’s Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (AIOP) offers teens ages 13-17 and their family the opportunity for treatment and recovery. Full and partial scholarships for the AIOP are available. Please contact our Admissions Department for more information.
For Teens ages 13-17
The Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program is for teens ages 13-17 and is divided up into three phases.
Phase I
- Adolescent attends individual sessions with a master’s level therapist for between 1-8 sessions. These sessions specialize in substance abuse and co-occurring disorders treatment.
- The addiction treatment focuses on increasing motivation to address substance use, education about substance abuse, cognitive behavioral therapy, and coping skill development.
- The therapy is designed to assist the adolescent in gaining insight into his or her behavior and to develop skills to remain abstinent from alcohol and other drugs.
- Since parent’s observations and feedback is critical to the adolescents’ success, the parents will be asked to participate in therapy sessions.
Phase II
- The adolescent enters the “Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program” (AIOP). AIOP is a combination of group therapy and didactic educational segments for 12 sessions.
- AIOP sessions meet every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Phase III
- The adolescent attends group therapy sessions once per week (Early Recovery Group) on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
- Focus is continued with skill building to remain abstinent and addressing life issues.
- At any point in the addiction rehab program, should your teen struggle to remain abstinent; our team will work with the patient and family to secure a referral to an adolescent inpatient treatment facility.
For the Parents
