Brighton Center for Recovery’s Living Recovery Drug and Alcohol Rehab Program was developed to be the most effective treatment model in fighting against drug and alcohol addiction. By using both traditional and new innovative treatment approaches we are able to provide our patients with a life of sobriety and happiness.
The thirty-day rehabilitation period begins with a thorough and ongoing assessment. This is followed by individualized treatment to establish the necessary recovery skills to achieve abstinence from drugs and alcohol.
The Living Recovery Detox and Rehabilitation Program consists of two stages:
Living Recovery Program, Stage 1: Detoxification (Detox)
The first step in our Living Recovery program is detoxification (detox) from all addictive substances. Our state-of-the-art Detoxification Program has its roots as one of the country’s first freestanding medical detoxification units. Our Medical Addiction Specialists see Detox patients daily and they receive 24 hour nursing care in a comfortable and nurturing environment. When patients are medically able, they transition to the next phase of the Living Recovery Rehab program.
Living Recovery Program, Stage 2: Recovery Life and Recovery Life
Stage 2 of our Living Recovery program is designed to help patients master essential skills needed to continue the recovery process in a supportive recovery environment. Each patient is assigned a personal Care Coordinator and a team of addiction-certified counselors to develop a personalized rehabilitation plan to help them move through the difficult process of change that is essential to overcome the physical and emotional consequences of addiction. The treatment team also assists patients with entering into the 12-Step process of recovery that is so important in sustaining long term recovery. While in this phase, patients work to achieve their goals through individual and group counseling, chemical dependency educational lectures, videos, and 12-Step meetings for a minimum of five hours a day, seven days a week. Patients may also receive a complete psychiatric evaluation if the team determines it necessary.
Recovery management is the focus for the remainder of the Living Recovery rehabilitation program. Recovery management gives patients the opportunity to structure and strengthen their ongoing recovery plan. Patients will learn strategies to become connected to the recovery community, and to develop essential recovery supports including temporary sponsorship which is a cornerstone of successful recovery. Patients will learn specific ways to identify relapse triggers and strategies to prevent relapse. During this stage patients will develop a comprehensive aftercare plan, including health care coordination with their Primary Care Physician, to ensure that all recovery needs are met upon discharge. The treatment team will also prepare each patient for transition back to the workplace and living environment. Family members are also encouraged to attend our Friends and Family Program weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Friends and Family Program is designed to help families understand the disease of addiction, codependent dynamics, and the need for a family recovery program.
