A Sober, Transitional Housing Option for Women Living in Recovery
The problems caused by drug and alcohol addiction can affect men and women very differently. Almost half of Brighton Center for Recovery’s rehab patients are women. Once done with our addiction rehabilitation program, many women find that they are not ready to transition back to their original living environment. As with any patient, returning to previous living arrangements too soon can be detrimental to the success of their recovery. By choosing a transitional housing option such as the women’s halfway house, they are assured a highly structured environment that is needed to help keep the incredible gains that they made during their drug and alcohol treatment. Therefore, a women’s halfway house is often the final step in addiction treatment.
Due to the increasing need for a transitional sober living environment for women, Brighton Center for Recovery opened up a 16-bed women’s halfway house that is located right on campus. Brighton Center for Recovery’s women’s halfway house offers patients a safe and comfortable living environment that is staffed with compassionate and caring individuals. The patients find comfort and security living with fellow women who are on the same path to addiction recovery. Recovery is supported by a structured living enviroment where a addiction certified therapist is present 24/7.
During their stay at the women’s halfway house, patients continue to have access to drug and alcohol addiction recovery programs and services that were available to them during rehab. Although the patients are continuing on an outpatient basis and are more independent, they still benefit from the support that Brighton Center for Recovery has to offer those in addiction recovery. This includes daily educational classes, weekly individual and group therapy sessions, volunteer service opportunities, job skills training, an array of on-site 12-step programs and access to our nationally recognized addiction specialists, physicians, therapists and nurses.

Patients staying at Brighton’s professionally managed halfway house feel safe and comfortable with fellow women rehab patients and staff members. In addition, children are allowed to stay with their mothers at the halfway house during this critical recovery period as we believe that this additional support leads to a more successful recovery. The transitional, sober living option provided by the women’s halfway house is among the many exciting opportunities to build recovery and fight relapse.
