Dr. Kane began practicing at Brighton Hospital in 1997 as a part-time psychiatrist in our residential drug treatment program in addition to working at Psychopharmacology Associates and in private practice. He has won several awards and made many presentations, the most recent being at the Unified Osteopathic Convention in Orlando, Fla., entitled “Pain, Post Traumatic Stress and Addiction.”
Because of the expertise and commitment of Dr. Kane and the rest of the staff overseeing Brighton’s residential drug treatment program, we are mending lives. Our multidisciplinary team of drug treatment experts know that chemical dependency is a disease – not a weakness. We pledge to treat every patient with compassion, dignity and clinical excellence, because this is how you deserve to be treated. We know this because many of our residential drug treatment experts are also in recovery, or are adult children of alcoholics. Approximately one-half of Brighton’s employees came to us first for admission into our residential drug treatment program before joining our staff.
Every Brighton Hospital residential drug treatment expert receives annual service excellence training. This is reflected by patient satisfaction scores exceeding 90 percent. Plus, having established America’s first Fellowship in Addiction Medicine in a clinical setting, we lead the nation in the education of residential drug treatment programs. In addition, we help expand the understanding and knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment in a residential care facility through regular rotations of nursing, medical and social work students. These are some of our unique advantages in guiding our patients to recovery. Welcome to hope. Welcome to the residential drug treatment experts at Brighton Hospital.
