Substance Abuse Therapy Activity Programs
Learning how to have fun without drugs and alcohol is an important step in the substance abuse therapy and recovery process. Our approach to drug treatment therapy through sports and recreational activities provides patients with the opportunity to learn a new skill, brush up on an old one, or simply remain in shape. Since exercise triggers the brain’s natural “feel good” chemical, enjoyable physical activities are encouraged for lifelong recovery from substance abuse. Our substance abuse therapy programs balance the rigors of drug treatment with some recreational fun. Just a few of the recovery therapy activities in which patients participate are:
Although these activities are designed to be pleasurable, they also teach critical skills needed for substance abuse recovery. We feel strongly that enjoyable activities while in drug treatment therapy results in a healthier and happier lifestyle and a more sustainable recovery from substance abuse. To begin the admissions process for chemical dependency at Brighton Hospital, and to learn more about how recreational activities contribute to our substance abuse therapy programs, complete our Secure Online Admission Form. Our Customer Service representatives are available 8 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. weekends. |
