30 Day Alcohol and Drug Detox and Rehabilitation Program

Brighton Hospital’s 30 Day Alcohol and Drug Rehab Program is based on traditional models and innovative treatment approaches that have demonstrated effectiveness in helping patients establish and maintain abstinence from alcohol and chemical dependency. Over a thirty day rehabilitation period, all patients receive a thorough and ongoing assessment, followed by individualized treatment to establish the necessary recovery skills to achieve abstinence from drugs and alcohol. A multidisciplinary team of addiction treatment professionals, including physicians certified in addiction medicine, psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists/social workers and counselors, are involved in the assessment and rehabilitation process. The foundation of the 30 day drug and alcohol rehabilitation program is the 12-step approach of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.

The 30 Day Detox and Rehabilitation Program consists of three stages:

30 Day Rehab, Stage 1: Detoxification

What patients can expect during the first stage of their thirty day rehabilitation is drug detoxification (detox.) Our state-of-the-art Medical Stabilization program is one of the country’s first freestanding medical detoxification units. Patients in need of drug and alcohol detoxification are comfortably withdrawn with use of the latest techniques and medicines. Patients receive 24-hour nursing in a comfortable and nurturing environment. Medical management is supervised by experts in addiction medicine. When patients are medically able, they transition to the next phase of the 30 Day Rehab program.

30 Day Rehab, Stage 2: Recovery Life Skills
After detox, patients participate in the Recovery Life Skills program. This stage of rehabilitation is designed to instruct patients on the essential skills needed to begin the recovery process after their thirty days with us are over. Patients with no background in recovery or those who need to re-establish recovery life skills will learn about the disease of addiction, confronting denial, strategies for overcoming the physical and emotional consequences of addiction, and the 12-step process of recovery. Each patient meets with a team of addiction-certified counselors to develop a personalized rehabilitation plan. Patients then work to achieve their goals through individual counseling sessions, group therapy, didactics, educational lectures and videos on addiction-related topics and 12-step meetings. The program also provides educational and therapy sessions to family members and friends. All rehabilitation program activities take place in a comfortable, safe and private setting.

30 Day Rehab, Stage 3: Recovery Life Management
The Recovery Life Management program is the focus for the remainder of the thirty day rehabilitation program. Recovery Life Management gives patients the opportunity to structure and manage their ongoing recovery plan. Patients attend individual and group counseling and chemical dependency educational sessions for a minimum of five hours a day, seven days a week. Patients also learn specific ways to identify relapse triggers and strategies for relapse prevention, gain more experience with the 12 steps of recovery, and develop a structured plan to transition back to their workplace and become reintegrated into their family and living environment.
