Guest Speaker Cornelius James Finnen, Esq. gives a talk at Brighton Tune-up and receives his 40 year coin from Jean McGrath, herself clean and sober for 41 years after receiving treatment at Brighton Hospital.

Cornelius James Finnen, Esq., a former Brighton patient in 1968, currently resides in New Mexico. His background includes being Assistant to the Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney in 1971, from 1971-1999 Assistant City Attorney Albuquerque, New Mexico (retired); contiguously served as 1993-1999 Legal Advisor for Bernalillo County New Mexico Sheriffs Department from and as Alternate Municipal Judge for the City of Rio Rancho, New Mexico 1993-1999.

Adult male child of an Alcoholic veteran of WW2 and Korean conflict recalls his father's return to lifelong sobriety after care at Brighton Hospital and steadfast 12 step work after discharge.

12-Step Programs and Support Groups – Metro Detroit, Michigan

Our treatment programs are based on the approach of the Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous 12-step programs. In order for patients to become familiar with 12-step recovery programs while in treatment, Brighton Hospital hosts regular 12-step and community meetings in or around Brighton, MI for Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Cleptomaniacs and Shoplifters Anonymous, Sex Addicts Anonymous, Co-Dependents of Sexual Addiction, Al-Anon (a support group for family members and friends of those addicted to alcohol) and Chit Chat (a support group for those close to a patient and dealing with the affects of addiction in their lives). We also encourage our patients to participate in appropriate 12-step programs following their discharge.
