Holistic Drug Rehab and Treatment: Healing the Whole You to Recovery

Holistic healing refers to the care and healing of the whole body – physical, emotional and spiritual. At Brighton, we focus on holistic rehabilitation - mending the whole person, rather than simply treating the physical drug and alcohol symptoms. We believe by embracing this approach to drug treatment and rehabilitation, patients find new strengths (or rediscover forgotten ones) to help facilitate their own recovery.

Rehab patients undergoing holistic drug treatment play an active role in their own progress. Recreational therapy, yoga, meditation, music therapy, and gardening are just some of the holistic components of our treatment and rehabilitation programs. Acupuncture to reduce the rehab patient’s residual withdrawal symptoms is another holism practice Brighton Hospital offers as part of its innovative holistic recovery program. Plus, our dietitian provides personal and group education about healthy eating and nutritional needs during and after rehabilitation.

In addition, our campus includes a chapel, where regular spiritual services are held; gymnasium; weight room; tennis courts and a softball diamond. Rehab patients are encouraged to take advantage of these resources during their drug treatment and recovery program.

At Brighton, we believe that addiction is a disease - not a weakness.  You can overcome your drug and alcohol problems by healing you - the mind, the body and the spirit - and that is what holistic rehabilitation is all about.  "With the help of Brighton, I realized that I'm not a bad person and don't need to feel ashamed."  Very well said by one of our patients in recovery.
