Teen Drug Treatment and Adolescent Rehabilitation Program
Our much needed adolescent drug rehab program is in operation. Non-medical use of prescription drugs among our youth increased from 5.4 percent in 2002 to 6.4 percent in 2006, due largely to an increase in the teen non-medical use of pain relievers. Statistics from the National Institute on Drug Abuse report that in 2006, close to 10 percent of teenage 12th graders reported taking Vicodin for non-medical use, and without a prescription.
Through regional partnership, the Brighton Hospital Adolescent Drug Rehab Program will enable teens and their families to get the substance abuse treatment they desperately need. The teen rehab program includes individual, family and group therapy, access to family support groups, adolescent chemical dependency education, transportation, and aftercare.
