Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment Training for Medical Students
Brighton Hospital, serving the Metro Detroit and
surrounding areas of Michigan, is a national leader in addiction treatment
training for drug and alcohol treatment specialists. We are expanding the
understanding of addiction treatment through fellowships for medical
students, advanced education degrees for nurses, and specialized addiction
training rotations for social workers. Brighton Hospital fellowships offer
specialized education and training covering the disease of drug and
alcohol addiction.
The fellowship in addiction medicine was launched in
2006 to provide medical education and training in addiction treatment.
Fellows receive education in all levels of drug and alcohol treatment,
including outpatient, detoxification, rehabilitation and consultation.
Nursing, medical and social work students perform training rotations at
our hospital each month, expanding the understanding and knowledge of
addiction.
Brighton Hospital is a potential intern placement source for
social work students who may or may not have addiction treatment as their
ultimate goal, but benefit strongly from the drug and alcohol treatment
education and training they receive.
Brighton provides a dynamic learning and training
environment for medical and social workers. Our continuing education
programs in drug and alcohol treatment assure the clinical excellence
that's at the very heart of Brighton's vision.
