When you have a loved one dealing with addiction, it
affects you too. Your life is disrupted by the drug abuse and you
may be experiencing feelings of shame or embarrassment. You want to
be supportive, but you don't know how. You see the pain that the
substance abuse is causing your loved one, and you feel it, just as if the
addiction were yours. You need family therapy and drug counseling to
help overcome this substance abuse problem. That is what Chit Chat
is all about.
Chit Chat is a weekly, family addiction counseling
meeting designed to answer basic questions about substance abuse and offer
therapy to those closest to the patient who are also dealing with the
affects of addiction in their lives. Chit Chat meets on Wednesday evenings
and is facilitated by one of our family therapy counselors. If you have
been affected by the alcohol or drug abuse of another in your life, we
strongly encourage you to attend these substance abuse meetings.
